There’s a single, bare, weathered tree standing on a rocky point at Lake Minnewanka that I’ve photographed more than any other tree in the Rockies. It just refuses to fall over, season after season, standing its ground against everything the lake throws at it. This particular evening gave me a moody blue-and-orange sky and water calm enough to double the whole scene below. I don’t know why I love that stubborn little tree so much, but I do.
