Abraham Lake’s ice does this thing where it cracks into these long, branching white lines that run for what feels like forever, with frozen bubbles trapped in layers underneath. I got right down on the ice for this one, following those crack lines out toward the mountains just as the sun dropped behind them. Lying flat on a frozen lake at sunset isn’t exactly comfortable, but it’s absolutely worth it for a shot like this.
