We arrived at this location in the middle of the night before chasing aurora and decided that it was too good to go to bed and pushed through until the morning. As the intensity of sunrise started to wain our fire sunrise cooled, emphasizing the cold ice landscape. Over night the wind, rain and cold temps created these incredible ice formation. Some were small and dainty, others were massive and jagged. I had to walk ever so carefully to ensure I didn’t destroy the beautiful formations.
