The Bugaboo sky was still doing its thing when I swung the camera around to frame it through these tall spruce trees standing guard at the water’s edge. The pond was glass-still, so every one of those trees doubled itself in the reflection, pink sky and all. Sometimes the best shot of a morning isn’t the wide one — it’s the one where you let the little details do the talking.
Deep in the backcountry of BC a beautiful place exists, the Bugaboo range. This view is known to some but not a well known place. For me this is the best thing, I can be alone in nature and focus on my art. On this morning it looked like I was going to be skunked, the clouds were few and moving fast. Once I was set up I simply waited for the sun to fully rise and prayed for something magical to happen. To my surprise it did. What I though was clear sky was actually a thin layer of cloud that turned pink once the sun rose. I could not have been more excited. It was like waking up on Christmas to a gift you never thought you would get.
