Getting to Zermatt was my number one goal for the whole Switzerland trip, and I had no idea just how long a journey it would actually be — three trains, a few hours of driving, two gondolas, and a 45-minute hike just to reach this spot. It was worth every bit of it: the Matterhorn towering pink above the lake, dark rocks breaking the perfectly still water in the foreground. Getting the shot I’d been picturing in my head for ages felt like a dream.

Getting to Zermatt in Switzerland was my number one goal while visiting the country. It is such an incredible place, especially when you see Matterhorn towering over the town. I had not idea just how crazy the journey would be. We took three trains, one which we loaded the car into and sat in the car for the ride. Drove for a few hours. Took 2 gondolas and hiked for 45 minutes just to get to the spot we wanted to shoot from. It was well worth the effort! The toblerone icon stood high above the lake and made for an amazing focal point. The calm water of the lake was perfectly reflecting the peak. I just remember thinking it was a dream come true to make it all this way and get the shot that had been in my mind for ages.
