Mount Assiniboine has this unmistakable pointed shape that people call the Matterhorn of the Rockies, and getting up onto this ridge to shoot it panoramic, with the lake curling below and larches glowing gold on the slopes, took every bit of effort in my legs that day. Sunset lit the peak up in warm light right as I got my breath back. Some views are absolutely worth every step it takes to earn them.
